Clare Dales will be running a linocut workshop at the Omega Centre on 25 January, from 10am until 5pm, at a cost of £60 including materials. Email to book. All welcome.
Beginning with cutting and mark making techniques, we progress to developing your own simple design to print in one colour. We then go on to more complex designs, and use the press to create a repeat pattern, overlay of colour or to progress your own project. We will work on blocks up to approx A5 dimensions, focusing on experimentation and exploration of the possibilities of the lino process.
Bring any design inspirations, ideas, or motifs and images you may like to work with. A soft pencil and/or thick marker pen will help you make your initial blocks.
Clare Dales runs her design practice on the South Coast. She derives inspiration from built and natural forms, and explores pattern and scale in her graphic work. Working mainly in lino and monoprint, drypoint etching and collage, her work often encompasses several media in one piece.
Refreshments and parking
Tea and coffee will be on hand during the day, please bring a packed lunch.
Parking is available outside the centre.
